Hi there,
It’s been a while since I turned my smartphone into a dumb phone.
Five things to share:
Last post, I declared my love for my smartphone. We didn't always have such a healthy, functional, and respectful relationship. In fact, it wasn't until I set very firm boundaries that I learned to love, respect, and appreciate all the good my smartphone brings to my life: Turning my smartphone into a dumb phone remains a popular post. I'm glad I didn't believe the lies, and there are a lot of lies: "You need social media," "you need a smartphone," "you need to be online." Lies, lies, lies.
If all fails, I can always put my phone in jail: Kitchen Safe Time Locking Container, Timed Lock Box for Cell Phones, Snacks, and Other unwanted Temptations
A quote I want to share with you:
The world will ask you who you are, and if you don’t know, the world will tell you.
— Carl Jung
When I texted my friend this quote, he sent me another banger: “Pick your problems or the problems will pick you.” Learning to pick my problems wisely and with care.
You need to Get off your damn phone!
A question for you: Who are you? Tell the world. Or, what problems are you choosing?
I’m choosing the problem of dumbing down my smartphone so I notice instead all the trash on my walk that entertains and sustains me until I get home: Is that underwear??? How’d it get on the sidewalk? Wait, what do I do with mine?? Oh yeah, garbage. Why do we drink so much coffee? Where does all this trash go? Where does it all come from? I want coffee so bad.
P.s. It continues to delight me to ask and receive. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ♡
That’s all for this week!
Thank you for reading, and share with anyone you think may benefit.

I’m choosing the problem of doing things I believe are worthwhile despite a lack of confidence/belief in myself. I ask myself the question, “If you didn’t feel so anxious about this thing, would you want to do it?” And it helps me decide whether to push forward with a given idea/activity. I’m slowly expanding my comfort zone.
