Hi there,
And, “how we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.”
Five things to share:
Some evenings, filled with terror from witnessing another day— time— passing me by nonchalantly, and unwilling to escape my emotional discomfort with Netfixes and digital pacifiers, I turn to my morning journals. Each page is carefully handwritten and stamped, and I begrudgingly flip through the pages until I stumble upon a date, a word, a sentence that catches my attention. I read. I don't recognize the woman from these morning pages: Curious, open, understanding, accepting—Excited for the living to come, to unfold, with her childlike glee. What does she know, I wonder, what does she know in those quiet, calm, peaceful mornings spent offline that I seem to forget as the day unfolds?
Have you heard? Apple just announced its latest Big Rounded Rectangle!
A quote I want to share with you:
Above all, do not lose your desire to walk… every day I walk myself into a state of well-being and walk away from every illness; I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it.

Demons hate it when you go outside, demons hate fresh air.
A challenge for you: Choose silence first thing in the morning. There is plenty of time in the day for the digital noise to find you, and believe me when I say it will find you.
P.s. A word for time spent offline:
Also, Truthfully, since bad habits die hard, I also often check email first thing in the morning, but I'm diligently working on keeping my mornings completely offline.
Funny story, this past Sunday, waiting for the train, there was a husky and a man howling at each other from across the train tracks— taking turns, very civilized. If you think reality is not as funny as Tik Tok videos, you’re not paying enough attention. Or maybe I just don't know better, reality is all I have, but it was funnyyyyyy.
That’s all for this week!
Thank you for reading, and share with anyone you think may benefit.

I am a big advocate for not keeping one's phone in the bedroom for exactly the reasons you've outlined. Our brains take a bit longer to wake up than our bodies do, give it some time to find it's footing before subjecting it to the firehouse of the internet. "Don't bother me until I've had my coffee" is actually a kindness!
#2 - I miss those innovative tech days. I still have my blackberry bold and the classic just for nostalgia’s sake. Great info 🙏
