Hi there,Â
It’s funny the things you can get used to.Â
Five things to share:
I used to wake up to Twitter, the avatars shouting their grievances at me first thing in the morning. Open my eyes, reach under, beside, on top of my pillow until I felt it: Hard, flat, cool. Tap, tap, tap, tap— slide, slide; tap. For years, day after day, every morning, I would wake up and before I even had had a chance to fully open my eyes, to grasp at and reorient myself to another day, reality, I would reach for the hard, flat, cool object under my pillow and enter the noise with thousands of avatars shouting their grievances to no one in particular first thing in the morning; the same noise I fell asleep to the night before. For years, day after day, this was how I started my day, how I went about my day, and how I ended my day. For years, day after day.

A quote I want to share with you:
If you are lucky enough to find a way of life you love, you have to find the courage to live it.
— John Irving
I cannot urge you enough, beg you even, if you do find it, please, you must, it is your duty to live it.
time spent offline goes offline!
I cannot say enough how much I enjoy walking down past the little shops, fruit markets, boutiques, cafes, bookstores; the babies in strollers, the old couples holding hands, the young ones sharing a kiss and pizza; the sun beaming and the trees swaying on my way to the Post Office… Don’t get me wrong, I love writing to you too. Mostly in my head— during my commute, hiking the city trails, and those long conversations where the truth emerges one too many drinks later and smacks me right in the face— splat!— and I type it on here whenever I find the courage to face the screen, but I love, love, love the physical. Do you ever just know? Do you ever just feel it? Love.
A challenge for you: Get curious and practice You; Sitting With Yourself.
And it takes a certain foolishness, a sort of madness even, to get online weekly and scream to no one in particular— You — to get offline.
What you see(k) is seeking you. ♥
That’s all for this week!
Thank you for reading, and share with anyone you think may benefit.
time spent offline is now a monthly analog publication you can get delivered straight to your mailbox with 20 ideas every month.
